Christmas in London

I was beyond thrilled when the Christmas markets opened up here in London at the end of November. This country is not very big on Halloween, so they slowly push Christmas earlier and earlier. By the end of November, we were all very ready for some arts and crafts.

On a gorgeous, open-coat weather afternoon, I went with two girlfriends to the Southbank Christmas Market and Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

We crossed the Thames to get from one market to the other, and this was the foggy view of Londontown:

The Southbank market was fantastic, with all the little booths lining the river.

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is huge. They have massive markets, an entire fair with rides for kids and adults, and a massive ice rink in the middle. It takes up a good chuck of the park. It was only the first weekend and it was packed.

I don’t know about where you are, but it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here…
