London’s Free Viewpoint: The Sky Garden

A great way to get a feel for a city is to see it from above. Despite being afraid of heights, I always find myself at the top of a monument or on the edge of a viewing platform.

London’s skyline is ever-changing, and it’s latest viewpoint is the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street.

Why would you visit the Sky Garden when you’ve got popular attractions like the London Eye and the Shard grabbing headlines? Aside from a beautiful view of the city and an indoor Garden on the top of a commercial property, it’s free!

You need to book your visit in advance, so make sure you pick a date and book your slot. You can get snacks and drinks from the Sky Pod Bar, but you can also make a reservation at any of the three restaurants/bars available at the top of the building.

I’ve started to recommend visiting the Sky Garden to all my friends. It’s a calming green space in the heart of the city, with 360 views of London that include not only landmarks like St. Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye, but the Shard as well.
